Alcohol is not allowed on the beach. Strictly enforced.
The Clearwater Marine Aquarium (home of Winter the Dolphin) is located here at Clearwater Beach. Address is 249 Windward Passage (on Island Estates). There is also the Florida Aquarium in Tampa.
ATMs - Many restaurants, convience stores and shops have ATMs on site.
SunTrust on Mandalay Avenue, Bank of America on Island Estates. Currency Exchange at: Tampa Intl. Airport or Westfield Mall, Clearwater.
Bathrooms: There are several restrooms on the beach. They are located near Palm Pavilion, Pier 60, and across from Frenchy’s South Beach.
Showers: There are no enclosed public showers on Clearwater Beach. We do have outside showers were you can rinse off but no soap is allowed to be used
Beach Wheel Chair Rentals

There are numerous rentals on the beach. At the top of the page click on “Things To Do” for details.
There are two main bike trails in Pinellas County. There is the Pinellas County Bike Trail and the Clearwater Ream Wilson Trail. The Pinellas County Bike Trail is 40 miles long and goes from Tarpon Springs, FL to Downtown St. Petersburg, FL. Below is a great website on everything you need to know about the bike trails.
The Clearwater Community Sailing Center or the the Clearwater Marina.
The Jolly Trolley (orange and red old fashioned looking trolley) travels from downtown Clearwater to Sand Key, including Island Estates. The Suncoast Beach Trolley (blue and green motif) travels from downtown Clearwater across the beaches South to St. Pete Beach, where you can make connections with the Central Avenue Trolley, into downtown St. Petersburg. Fare: $2.25 per ride (have exact amount, drivers do not carry change). Day passes available at the Beach Chamber Office, 429 Poinsettia Ave.: $5.00 per person, $2.50 for seniors (over 65). Day passes good for Trolleys and PSTA (Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority) buses. Tolleys run about every 20-25 minutes.Look for the sunburst trolley stop sign.
On weekends (Fri-Sat-Sun) the Jolley Trolley route is extended north thru Dunedin, Palm Harbor, and to Tarpon Springs.
Busch Gardens/Adventure Island
Located in Tampa, about 45 minutes from Clearwater Beach. Discount tickets available at the Beach Chamber Office, 429 Poinsettia Ave. and at our Visitor Center inside the Surf Style Mega Store.
Caladesi Island State Park
The island is accessible by sand (on foot) from the very north end of Clearwater Beach. If you walk, remember you have to walk back over the sand. It is far. The more convenient way is by ferry from the Marina or Honeymoon Island State Park, Dunedin.
Absolutely no open flames allowed on the Beach. Grills available at picnic shelters in Sand Key Park.
Canopies are allowed on the beach as long as you take them down when you leave. Cabanas will be available for rent as well.
There is a change machine in the Lobby of the Marina (at the roundabout).
Chapel-By-The-Sea (Inter faith Christian Church), located at the north end near the Beach Library, and; St. Bendan’s Cathlolic Church (Island Estates). All others are on the mainland or in beach towns further south.
Dogs are not allowed on the beach, although you can walk your dog on the north end of Clearwater Beach (on a leash). There is also a doggy park (fenced area) at Sand Key Park. There is a Dog Beach at Honeymoon Island State Park in Dunedin.
Cross the causeway and the bridge to the East. Downtown Clearwater has shops and restaurants, revolving around the Cleveland Street District. The Clearwater Main Library, Coachman Park and Dolphin Tale Adventure are also located in downtown Clearwater.

A delightful Florida town. Go over the causeway and bridge, turn left (north) on ALT 19 (Fort Harrison or Myrtle) through Clearwater. Continue north for about 4 miles.
No open flames or fireworks are allowed on the beach. No explosives of any kind.

Honeymoon Island State Park
About 12.5 miles from Clearwater Beach. Go east to Clearwater, left on Alt. 19. North to Curlew Road. West to the end.

Beach Branch, Clearwater Library, 69 Bay Esplanade (north on Mandalay). Clearwater Main Library, 100 North Osceola Ave, adjacent to the Dolphin Tale Adventure (best library with an incredible view over Coachman Park, Clearwater Bay, Memorial Causeway Bridge and Clearwater Beach). Don’t miss it. Go to the third floor, grab a book, sit down to read and enjoy the view. The view will make it very difficult to concentrate on your book.
Most museums are in Downtown St. Petersburg. About 23 miles Southeast of Clearwater Beach.
It takes a bit over 1 and 1/2 hours to drive to Orlando, except in rush hour. If you are planning to travel through Tampa to Orlando in rush hour, change your plans and stay on the beach.
The old downtown area of Palm Harbor is located on Florida Avenue (a right turn off of ALT 19) about 8 miles north of downtown Clearwater.
There are plenty of parking lots, parking garages and metered areas for parking. There is a change machine located in the Lobby of the Marina (at the roundabout). You can also park in the Municipal Parking Lot at 640 Pierce Street (in Downtown Clearwater). Parking is FREE. Then walk next door to the Park Street (bus) Terminal and hop on the Trolley ($2 fare, exact fare only) to the beach. Handicap Parking Rules :
Parking a large vehicle: Spaces for oversize vehicles (over 23' in length) are located throughout the beach and downtown and signed according to the length permitted (24' - 40' or 24' - 50').
There is a payphone located at the Hess Gas Station at the South end of the Beach.
Pinellas County Bike Trail (The Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail)
The Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail is a linear park and recreation trail currently extending from Downtown St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs. The Trail, created along an abandoned railroad corridor, provides a unique, protected greenspace for walking, jogging, skating, and biking. Pinellas County Parks & Conservation Rescources is responsible for the Trail's maintenance and operating costs. Lots of maps available on their website.
All postal services available at the Contract Postal Unit in the Beach Print Shack, 294 Windward Passage, (Island Estates adjacent to Clearwater Marine Aquarium), open from 8:30 am to 5 pm M-F and 8:30 am to noon on Saturday or at the Cleveland Street Post Office on the mainland(650 Cleveland Street, downtown Clearwater, just over Memorial Causeway). A mail collection box is at the corner of Mandalay and Bay Esplanade at the Circle Food Mart. Stamp booklets are available at Publix (Island Estates) and CVS Pharmacy on Mandalay Ave.

Sand Key Park
Exit Clearwater Beach to the south via the Sand Key Bridge, turn right into park. Parking $5, beach, grills at picnic shelters, playgound, restrooms, dog park.
Caladesi Island, especially good in the a.m. after stormy weather.

Fred Howard Park, Tarpon Springs (north, up ALT 19).
The downtown area is located east of ALT 19 on Tarpon Avenue (about 16.5 miles from Clearwater Beach). It has a nice area of shops and restaurants in downtown, and the Sponge Docks (another 1/2 north). Look for a left turn (west) at Dodecanese Blvd for the Sponge Docks.
