Get All the Information You Need

Clearwater Beach Chamber of Commerce Visitor Information Center,
home of the "All American Turtle"

of the Spyglass Hotel on Clearwater Beach. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., our friendly, knowledgeable staff is on

- If you stroll, saunter, power walk or run, Clearwater Beach has
a three mile stretch of award winning, white, sandy beaches on
which to do it. The three mile beach is lined with a tropical
atmosphere of palm trees, luxury hotels, smaller motels, and
condominiums. All beaches are public and can be accessed from
almost anywhere. Walking at dusk is much cooler than in the day,
and you will have the chance to experience our famous sunsets.
Most nights you can look up and see a cloudless sky filled with
stars. Look out across the Gulf and you may be greeted by a
dolphin or two.
Hook the Big One!
- There have been many a fish story told from the docks of the
Clearwater Marina. A license is not needed to fish our waters
when using one of our charter fishing boats. Charter your own
half or full day fishing excursion aboard the Fanta Sea/Flo-Jo/ Charters (727-446-2899),
the
Queen Fleet
(727-446-7666) or
Reel Deal
Sport Fishing
(727-430-1798) and escape into
the Gulf of Mexico where you can expect to catch a thrilling
variety of game fish. Be sure and stop to say hello to Big Al &
his crew in the Bait House. (727-446-8134) for all your
bait/tackle/snacks and unusual gifts.Attend Worship Services
- The Chapel by the Sea (727-446-0430) is nondenominational. Their
worship service is at 10:30 A.M. on Sundays at 54 Bay Esplanade on
Clearwater Beach. Van pick-up service is available. St. Brendan
Church (727-443-5485) is Roman Catholic. They have several masses
for Sunday worship beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday night, and
8, 9:30, and 11 a.m. on Sunday morning, at 245 Dory Passage,
Island Estates. You can also attend worship at a church or
synagogue of your choice nearby.
Take a Ride on the Gulf
- Thrill to a refreshing,
exhilarating ride in the Gulf of Mexico. Ride the
Little Toot or sail the Southern Romance
(727-446-5503) or board the Island Hopper II or sail on Red Red
Wine (727-466-0375) for an upfront view of the Gulf. See
dolphins jump in the wake of the boat or relax and enjoy a
beautiful sunset while you cruise. Other boat
rides are also available at the Clearwater Marina.
Enjoy a Dinner Cruise
- The Best of
Florida's Private Cruise to Dinner (727-656-4551) is a private
chauffeur service that makes you feel like a jetsetter! By land
and by sea they take you in style to some of the finest
area restaurants on the waterways. Or savor the sunset and the

- Both jet skis and parasail flights are

exhilarating 'flights'. Get a birds eye view of our beautiful
Island.See Rescued Sea Life
- See rescued sea turtles and otters
at the
Clearwater Marine Aquarium
(727-441-1790), where questions are
answered and sea life abounds! Learn about the behaviors of
dolphins, otters and sea turtles. This is a working rescue
and rehabilitation aquarium. Don't miss their boat ride
which takes you along the bay to a wildlife bird sanctuary island.
Learn what's really under the sea with an on-board marine biologist. It's
a "can't miss it" tour.
Enjoy
an old-fashioned Farmers Market
downtown at City Hall, featuring produce, flowers, baked goods,
arts & crafts, and entertainment. It's held every Wednesday,
November through April 6th from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Gamble on the Gulf
- Board the Majesty Casino Cruise Ship,
sailing twice daily for all the excitement of gambling at sea (1-888-551-PLAY). The area also offers gambling
at the
Seminole Indian Casino in Tampa. . Take a drive to a real life Indian
Reservation and see the sights. Who knows - you might walk out a winner.
Learn to Sail
- The Clearwater Community Sailing Center(
727-517-7776),
located on Sand Key, is perfect for those looking to sail and
learn the ropes.
Travel the Pinellas Trail
- Enjoy a day of biking, skating,
running or walking on our beautiful Pinellas Trail. This unique
experience allows you to travel the length of Pinellas via anyway
but a motorized vehicle. Rental equipment is available right here
on the beach.
Trip the Light Fantastic
- Every Monday and Thursday evening, dance to the music of the big
bands. You can even take a lesson or two at the Clearwater Beach
Recreation Center on Bay Esplanade.
Plan a Meeting
- Trade Show, Convention or even a
wedding with
65,000 sq. feet, the easily accessible Harborview Center (
727-462-6778), provides
flexibility, experience and quality of service for events of 40-1400
guests, not to mention one of the most beautiful views in the
City.
Experience the Gulf the Pirate
Way! -
Captain Memo’s Pirate Cruise has
something for everyone, young or old. Cruise away into the fantasy
world of swashbucklers and pirates aboard the Pirate’s Ransom. The
frequent sightings of playful dolphins just add to the excitement of
a Pirate Cruise. Get your face painted, hear the story of the legend
of Captain Memo the Pirate and do the Macarena all in a two hour

Attend a Concert!
- Under the stars in Coachman Park overlooking Clearwater Harbor
on Friday evenings, mid-June-mid-August. Also, please visit our

other special events.
The Florida Orchestra plays it all,
under the baton of Conductor Stephen Sanderling.( 813-286-1170).Spike it!
- You can attend the professional
beach volleyball tournaments or get into your own pick-up game
right on the beach. Amateur or professional, they all come to
Clearwater Beach to play.
Enjoy Kid’s Week
- Kid’s Week is a unique event exclusive to
Clearwater Beach. Each year (almost always the 3rd week in June)
is dedicated to the children (and their parents) visiting
Clearwater Beach. Different activities are held each day for kids
to enjoy, sand castle building contests, fishing contests, funky
fashion shows, sight-seeing cruises, trips to the Clearwater
Marine Aquarium, and more. All of the events are scheduled for
the enjoyment of children, and most only cost $1.00 per child.
Cheer For Your Team!
- You can attend Spring Training
games for the Philadelphia Phillies, the Toronto Blue Jays, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the
Tampa Bay Rays, the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Tampa Bay Mutiny, the
Tampa Bay Storm and
the Tampa Bay Terror all within a short distance of the beach.
And don't forget about the Clearwater Threshers and the Tampa Bay
Devil Rays who can be cheered

- Para-mutual wagering, poker and the excitement of being there in person
at the Greyhound Race Track and horses at the Tampa Bay Downs.
Pump Iron
- Or meditate, play bridge,
basketball, tennis or even take a line dance class at the
Clearwater Beach Recreation Center. 727-462-6138. They also offer
a full-size pool and a children's pool for the enjoyment of visitors and residents
alike.
Do What Comes Naturally!
- Caladesi Island, the northern most
tip of Clearwater Beach, is a state park accessible only by ferry,
private boat, or by foot at low tide and is home to the 5th
finest beach in the United States. Hike trails through 3 miles of
natural Florida wilderness, complete with local flora and fauna
that lead to the beach. Pack a picnic, bring a book and a bag for
sea shells.

- The beautiful Pier 60 Park complete with concession stand

pavilion for staged events has swings, sliding boards, and other
playground amenities in a natural setting at the entrance to the
beach.
Catch a Snook
- Or a cobia or a sea trout, at Pier 60
Fishing Pier. One of Clearwater’s favorite fishing spots, the pier
is open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day (except Christmas Day). The
Pier offers a full service bait house with gear rental and sales,
live bait, snacks and beverages. No fishing license is required.

Celebrate the Sunset
- Sunsets at Pier 60, a nightly festival of artists, crafters,
clowns, street performers, musical concerts at the pavilion and
much more attracts local residents and visitors alike. The
celebration begins 2 hours before sunset to 2 hours after sunset.

- Unique gifts, men's and women's clothing, swim wear, gold and
diamonds, post cards, beach paraphernalia, souvenirs, and original
works of art are available at the Bay Bazaar Plaza and shops up and down the beach, and on
Sand Key and Island Estates (our neighboring islands).
The Clearwater area also offers many wonderful Malls to meet even
the most discriminating tastes. Choose from the all new
Clearwater Mall at U.S.19 & Rt. 60 ,Westfield Shoppingtown on U.S.19, Largo Mall on Ulmerton Rd., and
the Crossroads Outlet Mall on Roosevelt Blvd. The International
Mall, minutes away in Tampa, offers all the well known upscale
shops and trendy eateries. All malls are conveniently located
within 30 minutes from the beach. If you're into bargains,

rides is just across the bay. This park is an adventure you will
not want to miss. It's second to none.
Become an Art Critic -
World famous, the Salvador Dali Museum, located in St. Petersburg,
ranks as one of the top attractions in Florida receiving the
highest rating by the Michelin Green Guide- the only such
attraction on the west coast to be so honored. Daily tours of the
museum’s fascinating collection will educate, yet entertain you,
about one of the 20th century‘s greatest artists,
Salvador Dali. Bewildering double images and incredible paintings,
sculptures, holograms and art glass will amaze you; and early

Ruth Eckerd Hall - Richard
B. Baumgardner Center for the Performing Arts. Since opening in
1983, more than 3 million people have attended performances at
Ruth Eckerd Hall. This beautiful unique facility was designed by
the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, and is easily accessible from
anywhere in the Bay Area.
Add a Little Culture
- The Museum of Fine Arts hosts a wealth of treasures in a
Mediterranean villa setting. The elegant Palladian-style building
combines the styles of a classic art museum and a Mediterranean

offers Clearwater residents and its visitors a 50 meter Olympic

Both are located right at the City Marina on the Causeway and offer
